Behold the GRAND PRIZE award for the Queen of Darkness "Touch of Winter" contest!

Congratulations to "Wolfenmoondaughter": Stacy Hausl for her winning image.

Her prize was a commission of her character Sekhmet Darkwing. A rencarnation of the Egyptian goddess in the modern world. It's her divine duty to cull the human herd, ridding it of the less honorable, crueler elements -- the irony being she can be quite cruel when she hunts. She feeds the souls of her prey to Ammut. (Pictured beside Sekhmet.)

Want a commission of your own? Check out Lycan Knight Commissions FAQ for more info how you can get your awesome character protrait of your favorite character.

Love the vibrant colors in this one!

:-) Karl A. Nordman replies: "Thanks, color is a weakness of mine. I love to play with it and see the cool effects I can get. Plus I feel a great color scheme really sets the mood well."

Nice paws.

:-) Karl A. Nordman replies: "Paws are so important to anthropomorphic characters don’t you agree?"

Karl, this is brilliant. Saw it on the top right-hand corner display box. WELL deserving of a MODS Choice!!

Gorgeous work! I love her, and the Ammut...doesn’t he eat hearts?

:-) Karl A. Nordman replies: "Thanks. Part of the Egyptian myth the heart is what held a person’s essence... life force or soul as we know it. When the dead are judged before Osiris the heart was when weighed against the feather of Ma’at. If the heart were found unworthy of the afterlife, the unworthy heart was then fed to the demoness Ammut condemning the wicked soul for all eternity. "

Very imaginative. Congrats on a well deserved Mod Pick.

:-) Karl A. Nordman replies: "I tried very hard to make this picture a different enough from the average Egyptian image. Different enough to be interesting but still have that magic. Thank you!"

It nice to see goddess Sekhmet in such an image. It’s very good, I say. The red tinge at the background seems to reflect Sekhmet’s violent nature as we know it, and the demoness Ammut too! I also liked the blood-red sunlight! It seems to bring an aura of rage that the goddess and demoness seems to covet. Its very good composition indeed! Ancient and modern as one!

Am-mit, who devours the souls of the impure, and Sekhmet, goddess of revenge and war, bring justice to a modern city. Great image!
